Default Another "What is it worth thread"

Good morning all,

I've been following the board for some time now and have made a few post along the way. I previously owned a 75' Steplift with twin 115's. Looking to get back into the game with a 88' Sport dually for sale locally. Original owner. Clean with no soft spots. I'm not thrilled with the original 175 Johnson, but it runs strong and I'll probably upgrade at some point. Decent dual axel trailer I think I can pick it up for $4500. I'll try to post some pics. Any specific problems with that year model over the run of a mill Steplift?

Thanks,
Maury

What Reel said! $4500 and ready to fish today :o

The only thing I've heard of is there are some parts that may be a little more difficult to find should they need replacing (like the windshield or side windows). Other than that it's another V20 ;D

That's an '88 - I have a '90. It looks in great shape. I agree - BUY THAT BOAT! You will not regret it assuming the motor check out.

Done for $4700. I'll bring her home Sunday.

Let the fun begin. Hope she's as enjoyable as my 75' was.

Nice boat. Its sort of a V20 bow rider so you got to watch head seas very carefully..On the motor I would run some ring free or sea foam through it in a heavy concentration and new plugs after the treatment then go fishing...If you blow it there are lots of older Johnnyrudes out there for $1,500 or so with plenty of life left in em and you can part it out on ebay and get 6 or 7 hundred just for the lower unit...Frank..

Frank,

Thanks for the reply. Good info - especially on the Seafoam. When I seafoam my cars, I suck it through the brake booster vac line. With outboards, do you put it in the gas or go straight to the carbs?
