Default is this a good deal ?

I posted a thread earlier about gbs/sounder combo units. Was also going to purchase a vhf radio while looking around ebay I came across this unit. Looking for some feed back about this please bare in mind that i am very new to boating and got my v20 for a song and dance and the only electronics on it is a jury rigged depth finder.
thanks

I would not do it!! I have a hand held as a back up, but there battery's don't last ball that long when you start using them.

I hate Hummingbird also!

You can get a hard wire VHF for a $100 New, thats the way to go

Another $100 for an antenna and mount. Worth it though. Then you have a real 8' antenna and a more powerful radio.

And if you're going to be an inshore boater, you can buy a new handheld very cheap. I use this Cobra listed below on my skiff. I bought it for $49.99 a while back, now it's on sale for $39.99! I always carry extra batteries in a ziploc sandwich bag.
