Default Happy Hunter

Well gents if you remember, last year my now 16 year old son Dan got his first buck in PA with a rifle.
He has wanted to hunt with the bow also for a few years but I would not let him until he committed to really shooting and could do it accuratly with a hunting weight bow. This year he made the commitment and I took him with me to PA for opening day archery.
Spent a lot of time with him teaching and my good friend their Dick Rossman did too, we hung stands last weekend and scouted, this weekend we hunted those stands.
My friends, Dan Schultz and his first day in a stand, evening hunt on his own, first shot with a bow at an animal and all the buck fever stuff that goes with it,
One shot 20 yards thru the heart, went 50 yards and dropped.

Proud Uncle Dick and his buddy Dan back at the barn

Very proud Dad with one of those friends you keep for life

A long and exciting day, his first real beer with the boys and pleasant dreams

And of course a little of what Dad dreams of to wake you guys up

Great post willy, he'll be too busy hunting now to worry about anything else for quite a while.

Good job, keep the Pa deer population down.
They can be such a nuisance.

Anyway, did you hear about the new Pa rule?

If anyone from New Jersey hunts in Pa.,
and kills a deer, part of the kill must be given to a
Pa. resident that was not in the hunting party.
So if you need a willing recipiant of the steaks or burger or summer sausage
or deer balogna, I think I can suggest someone. (hint, hint, wink, wink)
