so what the best deal going in a camera these days, I just had a little spare cash to spend on one, I just started shopping for one. I looked at teh olympus one that is waterproof and shock proof( for a small distance under water or from being dropped). Its 8 megapix, uses internal memory and an XD card that all my old cameras used. Just hard to drop $300-400 on a camera that besides being water proof, gets out performed by a $125 camera. Any opinions? I just started looking at the cameras that look like small SLR's rather than instamatics. Any input on these? I like the idea of being waterproof( I allways wanted a Nikonos 35mm before digital came around) but its not a nesicity. I don't plan on intentionallyputting iit in water. I don't care if they say water proof, I'm around salt water, ain't nothin salt proof, and if it drops to the bottom, being water proof ain't going to help me if its in 30 ft of water., but with technology progressing so fast now a days, figure buy a $125 camera now, if it last two years, great, then spend another $125 and pick up the latest and greatest. two things I do like about newer cameras, is the ability to rip shots of in a row, 3-9 frames in one shot so you don't miss an action shot, and faster reaction time when you push the trigger( actually one of my main concerns). thansk ahead for the input.

BTW, BR thanks for the visit to the site
