last night i tested the temp switches to see if the horn would go off...they dont...i unplugged them and touched them to the head..nothing....bad switches? anyway to test them?

If you grounded the wires to the head and got nothing, that sounds like the horn/buzzer not functioning?

the horn works every other way...when i turn key over it beeps.. i connected some VRO wires without the pump and i got a steady alarm......gonna try boiling them this weekend.

read them they should have a temp set point wrote on them. Then make sure they operate at the correct temp. they may have been hot at some point and either be set to go off to hot now or none at all.

ok i'll check them out this weekend..gonna boil them...any idea on how much these things are to replace?

i'm starting to think about just selling the motor and take the money and buy a lighter 300lb 20" motor....i may have a water or rot problem in my transom...i overdrilled one of the lower 1/4" force mount holes to 1/2" and didnt really like what i saw...wood was kinda wet and dark...and here i am about to add 410lbs to it instead of the 300lbs it had on it....

seems like i could just put a 300lbs engine on it and get alil more life out of it or just sell it...replacing the transom is not an option for me now since i'm moving to florida soon...i got a ton of things to do like getting my house ready to be sold...which in this market is not gonna be easy.
