The guys over at wellcraftv20.com are talking about trying to set up a Wellcraft V-20/V-21 rendezvous. We are thinking about Cherrystone on the eastern shore (guys from Mass to Fla.) So far we are talking about a couple of weeks before Memorial Day or the first couple of weeks in June, nothing for sure yet. I haven't fished that side at all that time of year and would love to hear your input as to what week might be better for fishing (what's biting), does this sound like a place that could accomidate a get together like this? Your input would be greatly appreciated. For any of you TF's with V-20/21's we would love to hear from you! http://www.wellcraftv20.com/ Thanks, Scott IP Logged ***124; Report Thread Edit Post Quote View Profile Search Send bMail Add Buddy Al B Veteran Member Registered: 5-Jul-2001 12:00:00 AM Location: Virginia Beach, VA Total Posts: 3553 Subscriber [what is this?] posted on 9-Jan-2006 4:45:07 PM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Flounder, Black Drum (Mother's Day weekend and for the first couple weeks following it are prime), Red Drum towards the end of May to the full moon on 6/10, Striper, Trout... man, that's PRIME TIME. Check this out! I looked at the VMRC link posted from tidalfish for the same week we are talking about(2005 report)........sounds pretty hot!!!!!
This is from Cape Charles .................................................. .................................... Chris' Bait and Tackle registered over a dozen red drum releases over the weekend, including a 49-inch fish for Matt Johnson (9-Foot Shoals) and 46 and 48-inch reds for Woo Davis (off Smith Island). Lara Jenrette registered three black drum releases at 46, 46-1/2 and 49 inches. All three drum were caught at buoy 16 aboard the BUCCANEER. Robert Savage, Jr. released a 30-1/2-inch grey trout at the Cell. The weekend flounder hot spot was buoy 36A and was no secret, as a flotilla of boats worked the site. The shop weighed six flounder over 7 pounds and heaviest was 8 pounds, 10 ounces and was caught by Stanley Parnell. No croaker of 3 pounds or more were seen but the bottom around buoy 36A was paved with 12 to 18-inch fish. Anglers fishing the Kiptopeke State Park Pier caught sea mullet and croaker throughout the day and had taylor bluefish and pan trout move in the shadows of the pier lights after dark. OK Called Ann at Cheerystone, she says if we book fairly shortly she should be able to accomadate a large group of campsites all together for both June weekends ;D They currently have 17 of these sites with elec and water available both weekends and hundreds available with no hookups both weekends.
They also have rv/camper sites available for anyone towing or driving one and can put them close by the tent sites if we book soon You can park your V20 at your site and she says the ramp is right down the street from the camp. $44 a day site with elec and water $46 a day site with with above for camper or RV $35 a day site with no hook ups There is a State Park around them called Kiptopeke St. Park and there # 800-933-7275 All camp prices are based on 4 people per site 2 adults and 2 under 18. Super Models are free since they never sleep alone.

Willy,
Did you happen to ask about boat slips? I figured I will run the boat over and back, so I need a place to tie up. I wouldn't need any shore power or anything, just a place to tie up while we socialize. ;D I assume some of the other locals might do the same Thanks, Scott

No Shicks I did not ask about that, did not realize that you guys would be right there with boats, I'm jealous ;) Someone has their link listed on page two of this post, give them a call.
And does anyone know if there is a short term marina close by, that would be nice for some besides me and MJ who sleep with our V20's. ;D

Cherrystone has a couple of docks that you can tie up to so you wont have to put your boat on and off the trailer. At least they used to and I cant imagine why they would not do it now
