Well here's the deal,

she went to doc the other day and they said some staples have pulled and that it was not infected ( I knew it was!!)

Told her to keep the leg up and stop PT. But my wife thinking she know better she did PT when they came for her and now the wound has opend right up!! and now has a infection!

Today her sugar kept droping to danger low and they could not get it up at the nursing home. So they called the Ambulance to take her to the Hosiptal.

They got the sugr up and looked at the leg, called the surgen and they cleaned it and say they will clean and change bandage every 4 hours till 100% clean.

Then they will put her on a Wound Vac. A wound vac is a great thing!! makes you heal like 10 X faster!! She was on one last year for a non healing foot wound.

They cut a spounge and put on the wound, wrap in plastic, pop a hole and add ther Vac to suck it up, much like a vac pack machine you use to pack fish.

They leave it for like 7 to 10 days. And when done your like new!!

I was at the nursing home from 6pm yesterday to 10 pm went to work 10pm to 8am at the home at 8:30 till 2:30 pm and then hosiptal till 7pm tonight.

I am wiped out!! I called out of work tonight, So I will get some rest. go to the home in the am to collect her belongings, then to the laundry mate cause the dryer is dead >:(, Then to the hosiptal to sit with her again!

Thanks all for your concern!!

Macojoe,
Based on my experience with doctors and hospitals it's a damn good thing that you are there to keep an eye on the doctors and nurses. No matter how well meaning they may be, there's not enough of them to go around and they miss things. They also don't always communicate well. Be there, ask questions, and keep them on their toes. Hope your wife is on her feet again in no time.

Rick

Thanks again guys!!

She was operated on again today to repair the infection site.

Doc says all was well, they opened it up looked at the vain and said there was no damage to the graph and that he trimed all the bad stuff away and sewed it all up.

Hopes that this will the last time ever in that leg!!

If all goes well she might be home for the long weekend??

We will see
