I have a 3/4 X 4 X 4 blockm on the end, if I pay out to much line. it will stop!!
Here is what Willy is talking about, But if I had it to do over, and I might I get one that is hinged!! This one has a chain on it and in ruff water sometimes comes off, I am waiting for the day the chain breaks and i lose the cap! :o

I have that same one but with no cap. I never knew it used to have a cap. I assumed only a very little water would get in the small hole. I know, I know. I should have no water "in" the boat.

M.J. was looking at that on your site, but what else keeps the anchor from slipping away. Is there a latch or something that keeps the anchor from popping loose other then the cleat ?? ???

On Old School it was set up so all that chain was not on deck, instead you pulled it in and a special hook on the pulpit that caught the chain link when it was pulled tight you hooked the closest link on it and you were golden. I can't find a pic of it maybe Kevin can take a shot for you guys. It was the nicest arrangement I have seen and I anchored a lot with it. The pulpit and anchor roller along with being able to stand and pull it up without bending at the waist is really the only way to go unless you have a windlass, which obviously would be easier.
