Default New Old V20 In Michigan

Well here she is the new to me Wellcraft V20, looks like early 70's

What do you guys think the vintage is. Has a 165 Merc I/O and new fuel tank. So i got that going for me. She is a little ruff around the edges.
Floors seem solid there is no hatch for the fuel tank,

Transome sounds good with a mallet. will drill some holes for further inspection. Time for the power washer to meet old boat.

So now where do I go from here. has rebuilt lower unit & new bellows. Engine has some water in it. Should I
go thru the old 250 or find a good freshwater 165 round here? howdo you tell the engine year?. Is there a serial number directory? Anybody have a good 165?
Is that the best power plant for her? I want it to be a solid fishing boat to runaround on the great lakes.
