I took my kid last nite and told him: Son, this is a lesson for you: Never go to war and put your life at risk, because nobody cares anymore.

Nipper: I'm not a distinguish graduate with honors, i'm a humble engineer graduated from a foreign university, but since experience beats schooling most of the time i'll tell you my experience: I lived in cuba 24 years of my life, i have the promises of fidel castro fresh in my mind, then i have the pleasure of living in venezuela and i had a very succesfull bussiness when hugo chavez was elected, but my business went down, then again in the name of "wealth sharing", today, my former employees are unemployed because of chavez. As you can see, i had my fair share of "sweet talkers", i hope i'm wrong for the sake of america, but the way i see it, this is not "usual bussiness" between republicans and democrats, this is much deeper, 50% of our population believes in hard work and honest earnings as a way to get ahead in life, the other 50% have the hand extended to see what falls in it, 50% believes in the " american dream", the other 50% are blaming the rich for everything bad that happens to them . When i had the chance to study the history of cuba, after i left, i realized that we didn't have a bad system after all, but yet we wanted it better, and we started bashing the rich, we started calling all the politicians "corrupts" and our media only criticized the government and made a modern "robin hood" out of fidel castro without looking deep enough into the caracter. Sounds familiar ?. Having said my piece, i'll tell you this: I'm not american by birth, but by choice and i love this country dearly, because this is where i'm going to die and for the sake of america, i hope i'm wrong. |

[QUOTE=nipper;131253]What gets me is that the republican based people in this country are always launching nasty character attacks on whomever does not share their views. The dems do not do that, at least not the democratic masses. That's a half truth... they ALL DO!! AMEN Lesterus!!!!

Reel is so old, his back goes out more than he does. Franco is so old, when he orders a 3-minute egg they ask for the money up front. Willy's so old when he walks by a graveyard, guys come running after him with shovels. BC - Quote:
Why don't you name 2 positive things he has done. Also if you don't mind me askin - what exactly is your gripe with early voting?

First of all, thanks for paraphrasing me...I WILL answer your question though. He has cut taxes for EVERYONE, including the "poor." President Bush's 2001 and 2003 tax relief fueled economic growth and reduced the marginal rate for every income tax bracket. By the end of last year, Americans would have paid an additional $1.3 trillion in taxes had it not been for the President's tax relief. If the President's tax relief is allowed to expire at the end of 2010, Americans will pay about $280 billion more in taxes each year. With the largest tax increase in history looming, Congress should make the President's tax relief permanent. On January 28, 2008 during his State of the Union address, President Bush asked Congress to support a new $300 million "Pell Grants for Kids" scholarship program to help poor children reach their full potential. If you would like more information you can check this site... http://www.whitehouse.gov/infocus/ So again, I ask, what do you think he has done so bad?? And I just do not agree with early voting. Election DAY, not election MONTH.

bc, it strikes me that you didn't really have an answer to Blue's question about naming 2 things Bush has done. Consequently you went to the whitehouse site and quoted it verbatim.
