The top cap was 1 quart kit, actually have 1/2 of it left. The sides was 1 quart kit. had to by 2 quart kits of the primer, and all of the thinners and stuff. The primer is the hardest thing to work with, its very runny stuff no need to thin it. The awlgrip itself is fairly thick and you need the brushing reducer to extend the drying time.

Thanks,

A buddy of mine told me a quart would do the top and a quart for the hull. I didn't think a quart would go that far but I guess I was wrong. I'm going to spray the Awlcraft 2000. I'm trying to work out some spraybooth time with someone, at least for the final topcoats. I'm about finished up with my honey-do flooring job so I'm going to get back to work on the boat and motor. I'll be posting some progressive pics.

Thanks,
Scott

The quart kit mixes up to make 3 pints and you put it on thin. The stuff covers the primer totally. The bottom of the paint bucket comes out after it cures kinda like a flexable plastic. Shicks just remember that if you get it on too thick it will cause solvent entrapment, it'll make little bubbles. I had some run down from the side onto the deck, and it made a pile of little nonskid bubbles.

Vic, I know it's been a while since this thread tapped out, but I was just perusing through the gallery and came across your pictures. That is an amazing job. I complemented you on the color back in April, but that is just the icing on the cake. You went to town on that hull and the results give no hint of the extent of work you actually did beneath the surface. Nice job.
