I got my friend's A frame and am going to take the motor off this weekend. I already cut into the transom some and it is unbelievable. What's left of the wood looks like baby crap. Alot of it is just nothing but air. I think the only thing keeping the motor on was the glass and big washers. The fiberglass skin on the outside is about 3/8" thick, pretty good.

I will take some pictures with my digital camera but some of you may have to walk me through posting them.

When I did my conversion I bet that transom was 1/2 inch at some points
