i always thought the same. Why build or live in a city that's 3 ft below sea level and has to have pumps running 24/7 plus levies to keep you dry. That's like building a boat with holes in the bottom and expecting it to float. I've been there and it was a nice city to VISIT but that was it. God Bless them all and hope you all get out alive and well. But Move to rebuild.

It's almost like mans defiance of the laws of God and nature, at some point a great hand is going to smite you. Those poor people, I was there in April with my whole family, my best friend since 1974 when we were in the Army together lives in Baton Rouge. Spent a week with him. Glad I did it then. I cannot believe that city will ever be the same. My Dad who was a merchant marine told me the sea will not suffer fools. It claimed him in 1972 10 miles off the coast of Galveston. I see the massive wall they have along the lake front in Orleans, you walk along the top, on one side 15 feet down is the lake and or river front, on the other side you look down 35 feet is the street with all the people, history stores museums and I could'nt help thinking what my Dad had said.

Checkin in!!! Just got phones back on out here...Ill slack when i can, but got alot of cleanup to do.

Mobile didnt do too bad...we are out of power for a few days(on generator now), but overall we are good. NO and MS are hurting REALLY bad...they need our prayers. I got a friend who is heading over to help a family out that he knows. His buddy just came in town...No coverage from New Orleans to Mobile on cell phones....he didnt even get a tower till hit was 10 miles into AL.....

The levies in NO arent holding up and they are about to evac the people in the Super Dome to the Astro Dome. They are comin your way MM.

I have been seeing Coast Gaurd choppers for the last few days back and forth going to MS constantly. They are rescuing peple off of houses over there. They are marking the homes with dead by painting red X's on the roofs and coming back later after all living have been rescued. Very bad times over there right now...I know this is sorta rambling...soryy...I just gotta get back to cleaning up. Trying to let yall know whats goin on.

yea stinky and watch out for the health problems coming from this, by the way i heard from my friend in baton rouge they ok got a lot of trees down and power and phones out but most areas ok. he said they have converted all thier schools and public bldgs and private company bldgs into emergency shelters for thousands, they are full and more coming. they told them it will be weeks before they will be moved anywhere

HI all. This is the first time that I have been able to get on the web since last week. We are using our cell phones to connect. I have been away from home (Kenner, LA) since Saturday. Kenner is in Jefferson parish which is next to Orleans Parish. Hopefully home is not that flooded. We are keeping fingers crossed. Our fishing camp is, or was, in St. Benard Parish. This was home to the V20, but I think it is all gone now. I believe that I will now relocate to Baton Rouge. I feel lucky compared to those on TV. However, I have never been more pissed than today as I watch the animals destroy the city. Bomb them all so that Houston doesn't have to deal with them. I will check in later. Happy fishing all. It will be quite a while before that happens for me.

Trout, was your V20 AT the camp?...hope not...have you seen your house yet...hopin' for you that all's well there...keep us posted on happenings down there.
