The inserts came from FPmarine.com. Probably still have some.

I have one hatch lid in storage that is a spare. I'd be willing to part with it.

Hi,
I decided to redo all of the teak on my V. I am not quite finished, but close. Redoing the rod boxes was a fairly time consuming project because the original fiberglass box on the starboard side was cracked and a piece on the bottom of the box was completely broken out. The way I repaired it was to reinforce the back side of the box with 6 OZ fiberglass cloth and epoxy resin and I filled with thickened epoxy. I reinforced both boxes. After getting everything smooth, I primed the boxes and spray painted them with Interlux Brightsides urethane paint. The color is off-white and it really matches the boat's gelcoat well. I used the rodboxes this year and they are ok. Sometimes line and weights on the rods get caught under the gunnels which I intend to fix by mounting 4" rod tubes forward of the boxes to keep from snagging.

I am also showing my refinished teak cabin door which had to be taken apart because of joint failure, cleaned and re-glued. I used Titebond 3 to do the reglue. Finish on all of my teak is Sikkens Cetol Natural Teak. I refinished the cabin door 2 years ago and it is holding up very well. This past season, my boat spent the time uncovered exposed in the elements in Cape May County NJ.

Thanks. I'll try FP Marine. I'm just getting use to the interface here so not sure how the reply works but hopefully this comes through to you. Those rod holders look awesome. Regarding the hatch cover let me know what you want for it.

The boat looks great with all the teak redone & the rod holders are real nice with the plastic shell & wooden brackets. Were the wooden brackets stock or added by you? Also, did you paint the floor?

The teak rod holders mounted in the rod boxes are stock 1984 Wellcraft. The floor will be repainted this spring with non-skid paint or some other marine floor paint. Some of the V20 guys at this site have used other specialty marine floor finishes that are like spray in truck bed liners. I don't remember the names of the products, but I am sure someone will mention the product names.
