It only takes one ticket to win!

There is one point of clarification on this idea - does the one time fee of $20 get me in for a full 52 weeks, or are we talking $52 X $20 for the full year? Pardon me if ya'lll already made that clear.

I'D LIKE TO COLLECT $20.00 A HEAD FROM ALL INTERESTED PARTIES - THEN BUY AS MANY TICKETS AS WE CAN AND PLAY THE NEUMBERS FOR 52 WEEKS STRAIGHT. IF 52 PEOPLE GET IN WE CAN PLAY THE SAME 20 NUMBERS FOR 52 WEEKS - DAMN, I THINK I GOT MYSELF CONFUSED

Just thinking out loud, but here goes.

First, we need to get a mold built. I know theres been talk about how much and who, but we need to get a real life estimate and detailed plan in place for getting that done. Once the plan is developed and hard numbers time estimates established, with a real life mold builder involved, all interested in this deal should then divide the costs for having the mold(s) built. We won't lose our money cause we all know we can sell the molds if worse comes to worse.

52 people X $20 - $1040

If we go with the lottery, massively overwhelming odds say that $1040 will be wasted.

Why not get the plan I mentioned together, then I think you'd be more apt to find 52 people who'd be even more willing to put up $100 (or more) a head. That might even cover the molds?? Seems like less of a "gamble" to me, but like I said I'm just thinkin out loud.

The plan doesn't have to be extremely detailed. But needs to address things like, cost estimates, names of people involved in labor, and most importantly - the design characteristics of the V20 of the future.

I work in computer programming and we just can't do anything without a plan. Same goes with building a house and such.

Once we have molds, then we go back around and grab another $100 from the original investors to get the first hull laid up - but not before developing the plan and estimates for that too!

Anybody that does labor (whether its us or outsourced) is paid by the job or by the hour. So, if you invest $100, but then do $1000 worth of labor towards the project, you end up with $900 in your pocket and your still in on the investment too! In other words, your work won't buy you in on the investment, rather it would serve to pay for your investment and stick some cash in your wallet too.

The mold is the easy part. The engineering for the type of glass and resin or epoxy, how it's laminated stringers and transom, and all the mechanical systems is gonna be a bunch. Then we gotta figure who is b gonna build it and in what numbers. Probably just about the same longshot as winning the lottery. At least with the lottery we are only out 20 bucks each. And it would be a great conversation focus in the forum. It will take two kinds of people to pull off this project. Dreamers and planners!!!!
We got both here!!! I still say what the heck, I'm willing to through in $20 bucks for a longshot. Guess which category I fall into!!!

Hey, Franco...Got back from your home state this afternoon...if you ever get a chance to go over to Cape San Blas, take your boat and GO!!!...INCREDIBLE!!!

I agree about the glassing method above...vacum bagging seems the real thing...remember the guy Bigshrimpin posted several months back redoin' a Mako?...THAT'S the kinda talent we need for this....now all we gotta do is find him and pay him!!! ::) ;D...since I didn't bump into you strollin' down the shores of the Sunshine State, I'll send along the $20 next day or two...that's about all I got back from Fla. with...

Blue Runner...it seems to me BOTH ways are viable...if there are enough willing parties to invest $1000 and kick this thing off, then I'm in on that front, too!!

We still got some DESIGN WORK to do...I wish I was proficient at doin' that, but wishin' in one hand and poopin' in the other only got me a hand full of poop :o ;) ;D
