Default Anchor Roller

This is a early morning and maybe a idiot question, but remember, I'm a diver, not a boater. I know how to only roll off the sides of boats and climb back on.
I installed new wiring along with a new bow and anchor light. The bow light is centered in front of the bow.
BUT ??, does the boat need a anchor roller ??
Seen a few pictures in the gallery with anchor rollers.
Does everyone else have one ?. I guess the roller exstending over the bow prevents the anchor from hitting the hull when pulling on the anchor ?
What about anchor line. My boat came with about 150 feet of anchor line on a spool. Shouldnt the end of the line be attached somewhere.
Stupid questions, but will feel safer knowing the boat doesnt float off when I'm treasure hunting on the bottom in all those shipwrecks.
Hammer. 8) 8) 8) 8)
