Pat...welcome to the site...a good runnin' 150'll push that V' just FINE ...

Motor: pull the cover and look all over for corrossion, bolt-heads and around plugs...you or OB tech do a compression test; all cyls should be w/in 10% of ea/other...check lower-unit oil for shavings and water...min shavins, OK...any water, needs work

Boat: walk around in the boat feeling for soft spots EVERYWHERE, but specially around floor hatches...look in bilge and everywhere else for anything unusual...look for tea-colored stains around fasteners ...

How's the trailer?

Assuming good shape, price is right ...

Good luck w/it...post up some pix...we can help you better w/pix ;) ...

Wise Guy...that shore is a purdy v-20 you got there...nice work 8) ...

Thanks - the paint is a one part epoxy paint called 'brightsides'. I have no idea about the spray tip -sorry. It's looks clean and bright. I would have used Awlgrip two part and would recommend it, but felt it needed to be done by a pro and wasn't up to the investment.

I used Brightsides on my old Critchfield. Flows well and provides a good gloss.

WiseGuy - that is a sweet boat - much nicer condition than what I am looking at. Here's the link - what do you guys think? What's it worth? I really likre the CC and the hardtop. The motor is a 1982 as well. Thanks for the help and opinions!

Last thing he says is he's reduced the price and wants it gone...he's ready to deal ...IF the hull is solid and comp test OK, offer 2750 and be ready to go as high as 3750 ...he'll go somewhere in between...

IF floor is soft or motor not OK, offer 1500 and be ready to do some work ;) ...

I'd say RP is right about on target with those numbers. I paid 2,600 or 2,900 (don't remember).
The trailer was (is) a POS and I rack it now. Assuming it's solid, It's amazing what the paint job does to your feelings about your boat.
There's more I'd do to mine and had planned on it - but I ran out of steam (with painting comes lots of sanding! :()and the fishing is good. So ...do all your work as soon as you get it and are fired up. I'll dig back into mine next year 8)

Guys,

If the transom has been redone and compression is good, I'd say $3500 - $3700 is a good price. That trailer is pretty decent and its got a T-top. With a little elbow grease and a few pieces of starboard, she would clean up well. Hell, a transom replacement by itself is $1500 - $2000, unless you DIY. BUT, the floor has to be solid or NO DEAL.

Just my .02.

Maury
