Default Thank you all

for your advise, the boat goes in this week. Still have to install a fuel/water separator, and check the tank for water. The boat sat for a year with 1/4 full tank, so I assume I have some water in the tank. Will pump from the bottom until I get gas.

Regards

Hal

i wouldn't stop pumping until i got all the liquid out of the tank i could get. i don't think running 10-12 gallons of year old gas would be worth the risk.

Totally agree... DON'T use it in your ourboard... BUT, also DON'T throw it away. Use it in your lawnmower, riding mower, car, just about anyplace except the outboard. Unless the gas has turned to shellac and you can smell that old gas smell it can still be used if mixed with fresh gas. And 10 gallons of gas @ $3.50 a gal is $35 dollars. That's a lot of money to be throwing away if it's still usable.
