With my V21, flat calm on the bay and very little tide movement I get about 37mph at WOT with the 150 Honda on the back. Cruise is around 26ish at 3700 according to GPS.

WOT w/ 3 people 28.0

Theres a chance you might recognize this boat from CL
I certainly believe those numbers, right in line with the 28 mph from my old V-20 with an 85 Johnson. The Yamaha 3 cylinder is probably a bit lighter too.

I get about 41 WOT with my 150 yammi(99, carb'd 2-stroke), and only hitting 4900/5000 rpm. You should do better than 33 with that merc.

My V20 can cruise allday at 40 and will top out right at 50 going down river or flat conditions with two people in boat and 60 gallons of fuel. Love the Yamaha F150 4stroke. I will never own anything but a Yamaha from here on out.

I am kind of laughing about the Suzukis getting slammed. That was my next favorite motor I have owned. THe only problems were the metal they used (recycled auminum pot metal) on the older ones, tended to get brittle after many years, particurlarly on the foot. I ended up buying several foots for backups, they where cheap. Never had one issue with that motor running besides spinning hubs, it had mucho tork.

That must be going down the falls!! I would like to see that--50 with a 150

I have had 3 engines on mine--the 175 johnson only made 42--the yammi 225 SSWII only made 50 and the Evinrude E-tec 200H.O. makes 53 with lightly loaded boat with a stand up top, arch and full fuel. All were properly prop'd and height set. Better check your GPS--or is that a speedo reading!!
