High five to your wife!!...wish I had thought of the pool-inna-boat idea when my girls were that size (graduating college now)...great idea!!

For your 1st boat, you picked a great start w/a 21...as you're finding out, very versatile boat...w/LOTS of floor space...for a rear bench seat, you might consider one of these...

This particular one might not do as it looks like a permanent mount...but you get the idea...additional cooler/fishbox space, seating and should be able to mount so it's easily removed...there are others around like this, only not so expensive.

Destroyer's comments...following the law is one thing...being vigilant around your kids is more important...kids around water is a dicey situation at best and you're hearing this from a guy who RAISED two taking them boating/fishing every chance we could...and along the way, there were some close calls I must admit...eyes off for seconds can make the difference...my two are grown up and WATER-PUPPIES to the core!!...Ya'll have FUN!!...

That's exactly what I was trying to say. The law is the law, it's true, but I'm more interested in being safe than following some silly law. I want to talk to my friends, not about how good they used to be before they died.

And yes, brakes are important RW.

I've taken it out a few times with the family and it's been a blast! I've got boatin/fishin fever, wish i could be on the water everyday

Just purchased this boat from him this past week. It's in pretty decent shape although there is rot in the cuddy from neglect and not taking care of it. Also the motor needs a little maintenence as the carbs need to be redone. Overall it is a good boat and the cuddy is the first thing I am fixing in the off season. Boat has been moved to Gville fl.

True not much of an off season in Florida however the wife is cold blooded (in more way than one). He was moving to Washington so he had to sell it quick, very excited about this boat took it out the Suwannee this past weekend and did about 80 miles. These V's ride like a dream. Glad to be on the site so much info to process it can be a little overwhelming at times.

Yeah I was just kidding about the wife, she's a good gal and actually encouraged me to buy the boat so I have to thank her, she just gets cold real easy which is why I got the cuddy. Here is a pic of the boat now like I said there is work to be done but I have time to do it and it's in overall very good shape and structurally sound, floor has a soft spot around the gas tank but the wood isn't rotted I think it's the 2x4 under the floor that gave out as the sub floor is solid with no rot...

Nice boat!!! I got my V-21 this spring and It is the best thing I have ever owned. The kid loves fishing in it more than I do ( Thank God! ) and has out fished me in it all summer. It handled very well out on the north west coast of B.C in a 6' swell and 4' chop. Waiting for the trim tabs to get here about the only thing she needs for fishing out there. It wasn't the biggest boat but it was the fastest and out fished 80% of the guides that live there for a week.
Long live the V

Welcome aboard....how's life in Gainesville these days....my wife and I are both Alumni of UF.. Spent quite a few years there both in and out of school. Hit Cedar Key often? Straight shot out Archer Road....One thing I have to do is get my boat down there and spend some time on the water there. Have it on my list of things to do for sure!

Gainesville is great that small town feel but in a city. I am born and raised from here maybe that's why I haven't left yet. Took her out this past weekend to the Suwannee but Cedar Key is where I really like to fish. I need to learn the deep spots now that I have a boat that can get me there only 1 way to do that and that's get out there and go. Love the community here as there's a ton of help and good info.
