I have two set ups for chuncking with mono (Braid is to risky because we are fishing boulder fields) : 1 is a 6'6' Tica Striper pole with a Shimano Tekota 600 line with 25lb yellow stren line. The other a 7 ft St. Croix Muskie Rod with a Shimano Callcutta 700 lined with 25lb Yozri. The rigs are just a fish finder with as litle waight as posible and then a 4ft leader of 50lb big Game with a 10/o Gamakutso offset shank/J hook. The water here is not crystal clear, so I think Flouro is a wasit of money, and I am not a fan of circle hooks, because A. 90% of our fish are hooked in the Jaw, and B. The best part is setting the hook ;D

I have a made by me Lamiglass 7 foot rod. I have a Penn 555 with 65# Spider wire stealth.

Now in the day time using live sucp I use a 3 way with 3 foot 20# Floro leader to a 4/0 or 5/0 treble threw the nose. and a 2 foot leader to what ever weight it needs to stay to the bottom. Chunks go with fish finder, 3 foot 20# Floro leader to 6/0 to 8/0 Gamy Octpuss Hook Night time changes the rues a bit, We don't use Floro at nigt, I think what ever allows it to be invisable in the day, makes in visable at night? At night Use same rig as live sucp, but as the leaders use Berkley Big Game Green, and live EEls, you will out fish your partner 5 to 1!! Do chunks the same as Day but also with the green berkley. Don't repeat this info any were or I will have to kill you!! ;)

MJ, how does the fireline hold up in the rocks? I love the sensitivity of the braided lines, but they seem to fall apart after a few head rubs in the rocks ::) But I only have been using powerpro, never fireline.

			Thanbks!

I am using 65# Spiderwire Stealth, Dim of 15# test, Holds up pretty good, the key is to stay out of the rock ;)

Put a carbide tip on the rod to stop the braid from cutting the guide.
