That's a pretty rough start, but you made it -- congrats! And I can relate to the nervousness at the ramp. I only haul once or twice a year, and there always seems to be an audience. As for the bimini, your V was just telling you to be aware, and treat her right, or else she'll give you more of that kind of treatment!

The more time you spend the more comfortable - but never lower your guard. Us boaters (weekend captains) have to be on point at all times. Its when you lower your guard that Murphy's Law kicks in.

LMFAO!!

Should have been therer the first run after I added the bracket!!
I was on the cell to my dad in VT, Everything was going great, then I said how does this thing in the turns, I whiped the wheel around at WOT and flew on my a$$ to the back of the boat!
Then I had to stand up and walk forward as the boat was WOT all by its self *:o *As I got to the front pulled the throttle back hard I slamed against the windsheild! *:o
Man that thing has great breaks!! *So I picked up, the cell from the rear of the boat, put it back toghter and called dad back.
Funny as hell today!

Seas that's some pretty funny stuff. I know you weren't amused at the time but soon you'll be an old pro laughing that the others who will make the same mistakes. I personally have made it up to first mate on the boaters test. Hey no one got hurt (permanently) and the boat ran great. The best thing to do now is get back out there and show 'em how it's done :)
