If you go into most any boat dealer or "discount" boat supply store and ask for in-hose or in-line scuppers they will look at you funny, walk to the regular scupper department, look at you funny again, and tell you they have never seen or heard of them.
But if you ask for a "check" valve, they smile and hand you these. As many know, at rest in a chop the floor drains will allow water in as well as out, so I installed these baby's. (It was HAMMERS idea ;D) The supply pile. ![]() And the finished product. ![]() I will test em out next Wednesday and Thursday when I sneak off to the coast to scar the lips of some fishy's.

They are indeed check valves. They are intended for vessels that have the bilge pump discharge at the water line. My buddy's 43 TORRES doesn't have them and when you anchor in heavy seas it slowly fills the front 30' with water :o. But they should work for what your doing. They work better I believe if you mount them vertically though.

Great work there Randleman. I feel much better having them. I also have the deck drain with a ball valve as a double back up. You shouldnt have any problems with them. ;)

Well I tested them out and they dont work very well. They still allow some water in, not as much as before, but the problem is that they dont let water flow out very well.
While hosing out the inside of the boat the water just trickles out. I am going to have to regroup. I think I will try mounting the check valve at the elbow from the floor, maybe that will help, if not I'll go back to the "plug" method. It looks like where they are mounted now, they make the water have to go too much up hill to get out.

Randleman, sorry to hear that your not happy with them.
Mine trickle out the same way I guess. I was more concerned about the amount of water coming in.

Wow... *Now you've got me wondering I should reinstall the through-hulls to get the self bailing feature back or let it continue to drain into the hull.
These are check valves I ordered. Any body familiar with them?http://www.boatersworld.com/product/359350147msk.htm

I would put em back in, I like the water in the floor going overboard. *Just be sure to get them below the floor drains so they will run out.
