Macojoe ,
I purchased the Git rot today and I'll apply it some time this week after the transom dries out. I Also think that's the way to go , glass the top of the transom and forget the metal cap. Moving the batteries forward is a good idea and I have just the right place for them. I have the scupper flaps on the outside of the transom I guess I need to install a pair in the tray for the deck drains.

2ndchance,
Thats a beautiful job but way out of my budget for now. Maybe someday.

MSBHAMMER and Parishht,
I'm from Vineland NJ and I hit the bay just about every week at least once. I launch out of Anchor marina at Matts landing and sometimes Fortescue. Yesterday we were about 1 mile west of bug light and caught 6 stripers on bunker, water was 47 degrees on the out going tide . Five were keepers but lost one keeper and through back one short. I don't have a scale but the sizes were 37, 35, 35, and 30 inchers . I hope to see you guys out there someday.
Dennis

Hey Menacer, I run out of Bidwell Creek with a 79 V-20. I'm glad to hear the striper action is taking off I hope to maybe give it a try this Friday.

Hey Menacer,Ive used Git Rot, and it saturates the wood fibers good, but had trouble getting the fiberglass resin to stick to it. I used it on an old carolina wooden boat that i have and when i glassed over it and went back to sand it it peeled right off. I went back over the git rot with Marine Tex and it held very good.
