I seem to remember but cant find where someone was explaining what to use to sand new fiberglass repairs on teh outer hull in preparation for spraying gelcoat and then sanding or polishing the gelcoat. Does anyone know where that is or does anyone want to retell me?

i usually spray over 220( put plenty of gel on it, you'll end up sanding most of it off)), quickly block out the gel with 400 dry, wetsand with 400 on a frim block, switch to 600, then 800, 1000, then 1500. Don't spend too much time on each grit, just sand out the previous grit scratches and move to the next. I then buff with 1500 compound, finish up with 2000 by hand and wax with a soft cloth.
