Yea, I've seen some horrible things as a cop too. When your young you are invincible. When you get a little older, well you see life for the precious and precarious thing it really is.
When you have kids, you see what you got away with and realize how stupid, how lucky you really were. And you hope they can glean some of the wisdom you have in your eyes.

A friend of mine had an early 90's suzuki 90h.p. and said it was crap. Said it had plastic parts where there should have been metal. He also had the same problem with the shaft seizing. After paying the dealership to fix it, it blew up and he bought an evinrude. I think an Offshore 22 would make a good bay or gulf boat, but i sure wouldn't want to get into any sloppy seas with one. Just my 2 cents worth.

When I started, my first motor was a 6 hp Johnson on a 12' sears gear fisher. Never never had a issue!!

Then I got a 17' with a 1971 60 hp Johnson, ran perfect every time!! But I one problem after another with the electric shifters!! and after tearing the lower unit down 4 different times I got rid of it!!

But I was in love the way Johnson ran and especially the way it started every time!! Like hitting a light switch!

Then I got a 1990 90hp Merc, that motor ran great and I think stronger then the Johnston, But I hated the way it started!! Never knew weather it would or not? Always did.

Then Got the V20 I/O and we won't go there! >:(

Converted to the Yamaha, and loved it!! till it died :'( Got a second Yamaha that was DOA on arrival >:(

Now I have a 1989 Enivrude 175 and as far as I can tell she runs great!! Had a few issues, but I think I have worked them all out.
Keeping my fingers crossed for the up coming season!!

Now if I had the cash, I would have a new Yamaha or E-tec

But for now, if it runs and I can disconnect the oil injection its the motor for me!!
