Default OMC Seadrives

I am a newbie here, Just bought a 1987 V-20 and it has a 2.7 liter V6 with the sea drive. What does anyone think of this motor ? and is this a motor that came stock ? pros and cons of this OMC sea drive ?

Well if you bought the boat and the motor is running that is a plus!
There are a lot of them around still. The parts are getting hard to come by.
Run the motor as long as you can, with out putting to much money. Then repower. These boats make great conversions for a bracket and a new outboard!!

Welcome to the site!! Were are you located??

Well, 2.7 litre has got to be 150 hp or better. Welcome to the site. Lots of fun to be had here. Bear with us, we tend to stray a little off topic in the off season... ;)

The 2.7L is the same as an 86-87 200 or 225 JOHNSON or EVINRUDE outboard as far as the powerhead and lower unit go. They were the small-bore loopers. PArts are easy to come by for the engine, but thats where it ends. They came stock from WELLCRAFT with the 2.7L as an available option.

How does it run?...have you checked power-head compression?...and lower-unit gear oil?...

Can you post any pictures?...bow, transom cockpit, helm, whole boat...
