Default The bigguns are on the move off Delmarva

I've not been on any boat lately due to work :-/, but my buddy who's a local charter capain has been puttin a whoopin on em everyday this last week. Mostly fish over 40" and easy limits plus everyday. Ride out the inlet, fire up the ol' radar, and then cruise over to the nearest beehive of gannetts. It's the easiest fishing there is, and the 50'er has heat too ;D If this cold snap doesn't push em south too fast, I'll be on em next week.

All the boys down here in Beaufort are waiting for them to show but so far we only had two good days in december and they went back to virginia..hopefully this cold snap will bring them back...I was out on the Cape Lookout shoals yesterday dragging pencil eels with birds working right over me and had a good very strong hit and run but I think it was a confused tuna ...what ever it was he ate my eel and 300yards of 40 pound calcutta...I turned him once and then he took off and thats that. Blue, I'll play nice and share. I'm done fishing for stripers this year (season) anyway. Now, when we go wreck fishing or fishing for blues 15 - 18 miles offshore we do catch a fair number of them rocks as bycatch ;D Somedays they are so thick you can't catch the blues. ;D We just move off a ways and try a different spot so we're not breaking the law. Many times we move 10 or 20 feet and still can't get away from them pesky rock. Ya know, them rock can be a real pain when targeting other species outside three miles ;D
