Default looking for a V20 in SC area

Hey !

I am new to your group, and I am looking to buy my first boat. After much research and discussion, I have decided on a V20 - from what I understand, it is a solid, stable boat with good freeboard and a wide bow flare to handle rough water. I live in Charleston SC, and while I don't plan on going offshore I would still like something to be able to handle the sometimes-rough harbor.

If anyone knows or hears of a solid V20 for sale in the Carolinas/GA/FL area, please let me know. I'm looking for an outboard boat, but if anyone has a compelling argument for an I/O I'm willing to listen to experience.

Has anyone checked out the V20 in Riviera Beach FL that is currently on eBay ? It looks good in the pictures, and I've seen it discussed in various postings, but I'd appreciate any first-hand info that anyone could provide.

Thanks !

Hey brotha, welcome to the site!

If I were you I'd look at 4-5 boats before buying one. I've driven out of state and bought boats before and regretted it later when I had more to fix than originally thought, and found a better deal on a better boat a couple of weeks or a month later. The end of the season is coming up and thats usually a good time to buy because people don't want to pay to store it, or they realize they didn't use it much this summer, the kids are going off to school, Christmas is coming , etc. Your choice of a V20 is a good one for it's versatility, classic good looks, and reputation. There's usually a few going up for sale around here, just do your research. You'll find one!
