Just got my boat last week. Unfortunately where 12V wiring is concerned I don't know much. But I know a mess when I see one. Unlabeled or obviously incorrectly labeled switches and enough wiring for a big house (probably only 1/2 hooked up to anything. SO, I NEED HELP.

I'm going to hook up the batteries (dual batteries) and start throwing switches to find out what is what.

My first question is: Does it make any difference which battery I connect the bildge pump to?

I'll be asking a lot of questions and would really appreciate your help and patience. I'm also going to do some reading. Any suggestions on the most practical book. I don't need theory just good instructions.
