Default opinion on this hull

I've been looking for a larger boat for awhile now, and was looking at WELLCRAFT 248's and 250's. But how do you guys feel about a WELLCRAFT 2800?

It would get me the room for 4 that I am looking for and A/C and generator in a much safer package for the payload of the accesories. I found one on theboattraderonline that looks promising. Origanal sea-drive so it should have a 250 gallon tank vs the 200 that the inboard got. It looks like a good one for a bracket and a pair of 250 SUZUKI's.

I would approach this project as a bare hull and trailer. I would assume nothing else works. If the floor, stringers and transom are solid, it could be made into a great offshore boat. I've seen these boats with twin inboards, outboards (factory) but the sea drives are rare. It's a much better transom to start with. If you don't need a genset or a/c, you'll have tons of room when you remove them. Get ready to dump some bucks into it. I'd probably start at $4k. You never know.

Genset and A/C are MANDATORY items for my wants. I'm looking for a boat that I can go down to the KEYS with more often or spend some weekends out in the middle grounds in. I've seen days in the KEYS when the wind lays down and temps can climb well into the 100's, I want A/C for those days when I'm out trolling and what not.

I'm more so just looking for opinions on the hull in general, not so much so this one. I've actually been looking at the ones with inboards but seen this twin SEA-DRIVE model figuring it would be prime for a bracket and twin 4 strokes.

I agree, it has the potential to be a great boat!! But right off everything and start from scratch!

Going to cost plenty to get her going! So price it that way!! You can always bid higher, but never lower!!

Good Luck!

HULL YEAH!!!! I'd get it.

Count on a dealer asking twice what they have in it on a used boat.
