I'm going to look at a 1990 Wellcraft CC 20 (21?), T-Top, GPS, trailer, 1995 Mercury 225 hp on Saturday. I haven't talked price because its a friend of a friend's but I know he paid around $13,000 2 years ago. Sais it's had little use by him as he had twins right after he bought it...used as lake boat by him. Guy he bought it from apparently had it as a second boat so he thinks lower hours on it period.
What should I look for? What are some good hul integrity checks? What is a fair price if in good condition? Thanks in advance! ??? |

Go to NADA.com you can get an idea of what the boat is worth from this site. Bill Mc

See I had looked at NADA before posting but the inclusion of i/o for the boat threw me off. *How do I adjust for non-i/o?

The boat in North Carolina would bring $10k-$14k depending on the condition of the boat . It would also sell fast with a trailer . If it looks good I would offer 10 and see what he says .

I agree om the $10,000
The price from the NADA with I/O is to include the motor weather it is I/O or outboard. And that is no trailer! A new traile is going to cost $2300 or better and the newer outboard also adds to the price. Offer the $10,000 and see were it goes? Good Luck

The boat includes a trailer and GPS. I think the livewell pump is nonfunctional though.
So can you get a an NADA price w/o the engine...it doesn't seem to list the boat hull alone. |

Just ask him what he wants for the boat.
The right price is one that is more than the seller feels the boat is worth to the seller, but less than what the buyer feels the boat is worth to the buyer. |

Okay I looked at the boat this weekend. The hull bottom coat is pretty much gone. There were a few "chunks" in the fiberglass down the centerline of the hull...clearly from being grounded. The wiring sounds like its in trouble...lights work "sometimes", livewell does not work at all...those were the things I thought to ask about. Boat definately looked it's age. Should I be concerned about the hul or is this normal wear and tear.
