I posted a new pic in the gallery but it dosn't due justice cause it's hard to see the hack job done to the bow. Anyway it's about a 5 inch gash/repair job along the center, the seem is all jagged and you might be able to see the gelcoat sanded away in about a 10" radis around the injury. What should I fill this with so it can be sanded smooth, and what do I apply aferward to bring back the shine back? For her age she cleans up well but this injury is buggin me. :(

If it is a deep dig I would use Marine Tex, If just minor I would just gel coat again.
To get back its shine it will take a good sanding with 400 grit then 600 then 800 grit wet paper. This should then shine lik the sun!!

I have a working boat so pretty is not in it name!! Gel coat goes on real thin but it is very hard and flexable.
Yes marine tex is a two part and mixes well and does a real nice job!! I have used a bunch around my boat and it makes a great strong repair! Easy to use! Just make sure you make it close to what you want!! It is kind of tuff to sand. When hard you can drill or what ever you want to do with it
