I think the reason that they are still doing it the way they are is because thats the way they have always done it.
It's hard to change, and a buisness decision for a change could cost them money, plus they are back on the drawing board with something they have not tested. A lot of the great yacht builders in the sailing world had the same concerns but some have made the change and have been happily rewarded by the public for it. I think you will see it soon in our expensive sprt fishers too.
