Default looking at buying a 1990s plus V20 help

I am looking at buying a newer 1990-1994 V20 I just want to know if these years are better and do they have the same transome problems as some of the older boats

I know th fuel tank is a little different but I can't remember the main differences

thanks

Guess it comes down to how well the boat was taken care of. I posted a 90 something from E-Bay on the site. Doesnt look bad at all. Check it out.

Deshet, if I ever start lookin' again, no doubt those are the year models I'll be lookin' for...the newer they are the LESS LIKELY they are to have probs, but I would check out a '94 as closely as a '74...any could have problems... ;) ...

I think its apples and oranges regarding all used boats and they all have issues..even high dollar whalers .. I bought an 83 V-20 last year less engine and trailer for $1,ooo that spent most of its life in a metal barn and was dry as a bone etc..I saw a 90's V-20 sitting up at a local marina a while back with major *** end rot problems etc. that I would not have taken if it were free. Its all about how they were taken care of. I have a little Mako 17 that is also dry as a bone and spent its life in the water for years but it was sealed tight and taken care of and still rides 2 inches above the scuppers with two guys on board while I know of a 99 21 footer that has to have an additional pump in the splash well as it sits 1 inch below the scuppers at rest and you can see that transom flex when you put weight on the lower unit...If you dropped that boat from 5 feet or so it would explode like a jellyfish full of water...I would look at all of them if it were me...Frank
