Charlie, do a search on the website or eBay for transom wedges. They are cheap and will help you get your nose down, but....

.....trimmed or not I don't see how you are planning to "slice" through 6 - 8 foot swells in a 20ft boat? Have you been on a 20 footer that could do that? Let me know cause I might sell my V20 and buy one of those! Blue

I dont mean to hijack this thread ..... maybe PM me if you would like to respond. When I bought my boat - I was searching for a versatile hull with "near-top" performance in ride capabilities (ie no pounding). If the V-20 isnt close to the "best" in that department - could you list some of the older 20' boats that are better ? Maybe I will keep an eye out for one of those too. I asked this question on THT ... and got one answer - 20' Bertram moppie. OK, fine, but that boat doesnt interest me for many reasons. Thanks

Just save the $99 and put it towards a new or used set of real tabs. There is a boat recycler near me that has two sets of bennet tabs for under $150 per set. You have to pull them off the boats . . . point is that there are deals like that around.

If side to side isn't an issue . . . You might look into a permatrim.

i have an i/o. i have one of the cavitation fins, im not sure which one, and it either works or it doesnt. it was on there when i bought the boat. i will probably install tabs in the future but right now i will suffer it out. i cant imagine those $99. ones do much. im sure they dont work like a $650. set of tabs.
