Default Re: Sudden RPM Loss?

Mulv. any pics. of te water seperator ??
Wondering if I had the same problem. See a water seperator that was attached to the fuel filter, but my V doesnt have one attached to the fuel filter. Costly at 85.00. I have new plugs and fuel lines, can only try and replace teh fuel filter and see what she does.
If by chance you can post any pictures of the parts you changed out would be great.

Mike, Sorry still no pics. The fuel seperator you are talking about is probably a Racor Water Seperator with a clear bowl. You can buy a Tempo brand water seperator kit for under $30. The replacement filters are much cheaper about $10 each. Whatever filter you buy make sure it is a filter capable of filtering 10 micron that is the prefferred filter for the new ethanol fuels. You may have water in your fuel, unless you feel like pumping out whatever fuel you have in there and trying to dispose of all that gas, I would just install a fuel water seperator and change the filter often until you have the problem under control. Your motor probably has a screen or filter of some type on the fuel pump, you shoud take it out and clean it. My filter had what appeared to be little brown particles. I heard that the ethanol in the gas has a tendency to break loose some crud in the fuel system, so keep a close eye on those filters.
