whop, I can't believe nobody's answered this ...we got some ''jamb-up'' electrical guys... the light and bilge-pump need to go to a switch on the dash...actually the bilge goes to two switches; dash AND auto-float switch that should be in your bilge...if not one , ADD it... If no instructions w/ yours, e-mail these guys for same on the battery switch... http://www.cgedwards.com/Perko/pko13.html Good luck w /your V-20 and let us know how these things work out ;) ...

Thanks. I have all the info I can use for the battery setup. My luck while cleaning bottom this afternoon a small piece of the hull dropped out? Not too big about the size of a silver dollar. This would explain last years unexplained high water levels in the bilge. I will scour the repairs section for advise on bottom repairs. I have been taking pictures of my modest attempt at bringing my 73 back to life. I will post later. Shicks you didn't worn me about the bottom falling out.

Cleaning up the area today. I will try to get pics. Not much space between bottom and driveway to crawl and snap pics.

Whopper, I'm hoping you just lost some gelcoat. I also have a 73 cuddy that I have owned since 1985, I had some cracks appear on the bottom and some gelcoat come off back in 89. really found the problem when I started taking on some water through the cracks. Turned out the stringers were rotten (along with the transom). You may want to take your fist and pound around the bottom of your hull and make sure it is solid. If you here anything (may be chunks of rotten stringers) rattling around you might have some issues... I had to have mine pulled apart and new stringers put in, and fully encapsulated in resin, unlike the originals which were only glassed up the sides. Has anyone else with older V-20's delt with this issue? I plan to post pics of the process when I find them, plan to look this weekend.

Stringers and bulkheads will be next years project maybe. Hull is solid and no soft spots to speak of yet. There is some evidence though with small rotted wood pieces in bilge. One of those things that I want to put off until after this season . Hammer helped me on the delamination problem. Turned into a 6 inch bubble that ran down a step edge. Putting boat in Dandy haven Marina next week to fix and repaint hull. I hope to do all in a couple of days and be back in the water for some early summer flounder .
