I can answer the 2 thirsty 5 questions from the voice of experience. 41 is just about right with a 14.5X19 pitch prop with the motor turning 5200 - 5300. The extension can be easily removed ( I have one installed on my unit) and can be reused on a number of lower units, making a 20 a 25 " shaft. They work quite well but are rather pricey. Why he's running the motor so jacked up I can't even guess. But if he was smart he's pull the extension and sell it on ebay seperately, lower the motor to where it should be and make himself a couple of bucks in the process. Kamikaze
