Phes--hadn't splashed her yet..hope to take care of that next week late...still waiting on the trim motor--

Reel--i have been born and raised here in Chas and also travel the state with boat in tow...have a place on Lake Marion, which is auctually where i plan on using this thing the most--notice that you are from "Sparkle City" my girlfriend is from Pacolet!

'Preciate all the good remarks...after i got her cleaned up i felt even better about the deal...and then she cranked(smoked the neighbors out as i let some marvels myst oil set in all the cylinders to makesure there was nothing that would score the pistons/rings) on a 6gal container and ran like a champ in the street..we will see what happens at the lake!

BTW any body have any prop suggestions...Mercury 175 black max...currently has 19 pitch alum!!

SoCo - Welcome!! Nice rig. I think you're one of the first Dual Console v20's on the board. Reel gave you some good advice with the power tech Props.

It's a bit of voodoo finding the right prop for your rig. That motor you have needs to be propped b/w 5500 - 5800. I think a 17 pitch prop would be about right for that boat/motor. When you get your boat on the water . . . . let us know what you get for MAX rpm with your current prop.

Props with higher rake like the Laser 2, rapture, stiletto will give you more bow lift.

Props like Merc Mirage will give you more stern lift (no bow lift bow ride down).

The 17 mirage or 17 revolution 4 is probably a good pick for your setup. Check ebay or other online forums for deals.

Personally I'm a big fan of the highfive props.

While proppin' mine last year, I tried a Merc Mirage 15 1/2 x 17...GREAT performance, but caused a little ''rattle'' in my lower unit (it will NOT rattle in yours as it was designed FOR a Merc motor...)if you get an opportunity to try one of those, I think it'll work for you...my dealer here may still have that prop...will check if you want me to... ;)...

It depends what you want out of the boat?? *I ran a 17 and was not happy with the over all performance.

I carry alot of weight, fish, clams ect ect.. Any any give time I may have 200 to 800 pounds of fish or clams. So I need the pushing power.

I Cruz at about 28 to 30 mph and top out about 38 MPH with a light load.

Yes he is the first DC, BS, I even started a new Dual console gallery in his Honor!!
