Default 89 V-20 DUAL CONSOLE INFO

Allright V-20 gurus, looking to pick your brains!!

I have the opportunity to purchase (more like steal)a 1989 Dual Console w/ rebuilt 175 mercury outboard--

Hull is solid, and appears to have no damage internally from moisture or any external blisters--Deck is in excellent shape and has no soft spots that I can find--Is there anything that i should be looking for specifically with reguards to problems areas etc?

Also, if no apparent problems, any suggestions for improvements/mods that anybody would reccommend?

I have an offshore boat, so this boats primary use will be booze cruising, shrimp baiting, and the occasional nearshore trip for kings/spanish and some bottom bumping just outside the jetties.

Thanks in advance for the info!!

Scott

All I can say is they are the worse of the worse!~~!

I think you should send me the guys number and i will call him to give him a peace of my mind!!

Then I will buy it!! ;D

Like with any boat, soft spots in the deck, transom test, ck hull over good for signs of stress, and if you want to use the motor thats on it, have it checked good.

I want a DC !! I have a cuddy now and it6 would like having the best of both worlds!!

Good Luck and welcome to the site!

No, the boat is local here in town and unadvertised--one of those sitting in the backyard-unattended-i need money quick so i will sell this thing that i don't use-type of deals! ;D

Boat is solid, but needs to be cleaned up and just basically run for a while to blow the cobwebs out!

Was just hoping to see if there was anything lurking underneath that is consistent enough to inspect prior to me hauling it off!

You mention hull and deck solid check out transom, too...w/motor tilted up, how does it feel/sound when you apply your weight to foot of motor?...lots of noise and give indicate soft transom...that test should be relatively noise-free and solid feel...good luck w/it and keep us posted...pictures if you can...I saw one of those boats between Calabash and SunSet Bch NC this past weekend...nice lookin ;D...

Compression test that motor B4 you steal...uh...buy it.... ;)
