aside from all the inshore species that maco mentioned we also have a pretty good offshore fishery. of course its not quite what you guys have down south and we do have to run a bit farther out but we get mako, tuna,(both bluefin and yellowfin) dolphin, marlin, wahoo, DELICIOUS GOLDEN TILEFISH, and there aint nothin like havin a 16 foot top of the food chain enter your slick and chew on your chumpot for an hour or two!!! WOW!!! we also consider blues trash unless you catch em the way i do... four pound spinning gear. aint a fiestier sonofa***** on light *** tackle. twenty minutes of the baddest *** light tackle fishin you can find anywhere!

i cant really vouch for the taste of bluefish not being much of a fish eater to begin with. 99 percent of my catch gets to go home after a hard fought battle.
niether one of my boys have ever seen a fish die... gonna be a hell of a time explaining that one off next time i take one or two for the table.

I have eatin bluefish as well and as yall said it CAN be good if prepped and cooked right. I would just rather eat something that tastes better without working so hard for it. ;D
