Still looking for a sliding hatch for a 73 V20. Any of you guys that put your boats up for the winter would be willing to see how much it would be to get a mold or copy of hatch made. Thanks

Axe, if you're at all ''handy'', the early-model hatches aren't really complicated...you could probably make a pretty nice one outta Starboard better and quicker than tryin' to mold...in all the time I've been on this board, I don't recall a single hatch changin' hands or bein' molded...ya'll let me know if it happened and I just missed it... ;) ;D...

I don't have that many tools or a good form to go off of. I found a boat by work but can't get a hold of the owner.

Axe,
I tried to make a hatch out of scrap plywood before I attempted to use starboard. I saw a few of the mistakes I made. After that attempt it gave me Ideas on how to fabricate the hatch. When I get brave enough I am going to try to make one out of starboard. I think if I make groves in th starboard with a router and then heat the board to bend it it just might work. I'll let you know how it turns out. |
