Finally got a good un/uns....

I ask myself every weekend that I hunt with Potlicker if the next one can get any better. It inevitably does..somehow. I hunted Thursday evening in an effort to break this horrible curse I had after missing that nice buck last weekend. Right at dark I seen what looked to be a nice deer and took the shot. I got down and tracked a little while, but it was very dark by now and all I had was a little flashlight barely capable of getting me out of the woods. Potlicker's in laws were preparing a wonderful dinner that I did not want to be late for. Taking that into consideration and the the fact that I was hunting a piece of property about 20 minutes from the house alone I decided to let the deer lay for the night. I went back and had a nice meal. We got up early and I met Lunatic Fringe near the interstate and guided him to the house. He and Daniel went to hunt one area while Potlicker and I went to the piece of property I had shot my deer at the night before. The plan was for us to make a hunting trip out of it and then locate my other kill. I was hunting a powerline that Potlicker had seen several deer crossing the day before. I sat for a gorgeous sunrise untill about 6:15 when I seen several small bucks head across the line. I kept watch behind them and sure enough HE came out. :shock: *The best one Ive seen or shot at yet. I took my time to take careful aim in spite of my shaking violently and squeezed off the 125ish yard shot. He did the tell tale kick and ran about 50 yards and stoped broadside again. In an effort to seal the deal I layed the smack on him once again. He ran about 10 yards and piled up. 8) *I went to the truck and brought it down to load up my guy. It was only 6:30 so I decided to look for my other fallen comrade. I did and found him and loaded him as well. Two rack bucks inthe truck at 7:30 am...I can dig it. 8) * I waited till about 9am when Potlicker came out and we headed back. PL and I made it back to the property that JR. and LF were hunting. We found them not only NOT hunting, but fishing in one of the ponds. :roll: *LF informed us he got his first buck and JR. layed the wammy on two nannys. We found them, loaded em up and headed back to the house.

This was alot better deer and I am having a shoulder mount of him done. he is my first really nice rack buck. 8)






I cleaned five deer today and I am SICK of cleaning deer. I came on back, but PL, JR and LF stayed to hunt the evening. We will see if they get any big uns.


It was as usual a great time and Pot Licker always puts me on the deer. He is a great friend and an even better guide. I am now after a serious BEAST of my trigger will not pull. Pot Licker has not only helped me to get my first bow kill this year, but has given me my best year yet with 5 kills and my two nicest racks. Pot Licker is the MAN!!! :lol:

Nice bucks Stink! Very jealous here in NC. Darn acorns everywhere and NOBODY is seein ANYTHING! I've seen one deer from my deerstand so far outta bout 5 hunts.

Almost creamed a nice little buck in the Jeep the other night - 1 more inch and I'd have taken his rear end off :o ...or should I say he'd have taken my front-end off? :D

Thanks BR!! I have seen bucks EVERY hunt so far this year!! We have one ON and then one OFF year. Every other year is good...last year sucked so this one is going great!!

The reason: IMHO...NO ACORNS this year!! Or should I say very few. Last year they were thick like MJ!! This year...THIN like my wallet. The deer are moving ALOT to find food. ;)
