Default Friendly V-20 owners

I forgot to tell ya'll about this. I was shooting out of Back River in Hampton, Va. this past Sunday when what do I see........................A V-20 coming my way. As we past each other port to port, we waved and shot each other a big thumbs up. Maybe it's just me but I think that's cool as crap. ;D

I see one here near me all the time. Once I said hi to the guy and asked if he had ever gone to this site. He said "no, whats in it for me"
At that point I said F him and have never talked to him again.

Got another, "cool" little story: I was fishing last Sunday and it was a bluebird day with hardly any wind and you could hear people in other boats talking. Some guy in a beautiful 30', downeast-style boat pointed to my Steplift and I could hear him say that one of his buddies has a boat like that. I caught bits and pieces, like, "that's a great layout", "it's a great hull with the flared bow", etc. I was amazed. Here's a guy in a boat with probably over a $125k price tag and he's singing the praises of my V-20. Neat stuff.

One of my best friends has his home on the beach in LBI. up for sale. Bought it cheap 10 years ago and will turn a tremendous profit. I went to the Atlantic City Boat show with him and we looked at boats he wants to buy in the 80 100 thousand dollar range. He rode on some and loved them. I took him out last week for stripers, first time he had ever been on a V20, after running and fishing all day we were drifting and talking, he looks at me and asked what I payed for the boat, told him 7 g's and smiled. He said he had never been on a boat in that size range that he actually liked until now. Could not believe the ride and dryness. And he told me that the 28 footer he liked a lot had about a third less fishing room than my boat. Felt good to hear from someone who has been shopping for a long time ;) We got some d@mn fine boats gents

I've had a lot of other boaters come up to comment and say they had one at one time and they wish they had never sold it, Best boat they had ever had, etc. When I bought mine 15 years ago i had been going through boats about every 2 to 3 years, now i am thinking about repowering for the third time.

A '74 V20 was my dad's first boat. Our family in the 1980's went on to own a 27' Centrury (pure crap) then a 30ft Trojan, then a 30ft SeaRay. The V20 was the best build and best performing of the entire lot.

When I could finally afford a boat, the choice was easy. Seeing another on Lk. Michigan is pretty rare.
