Default Torque Steer

Hey Lord Skool or anyone else who has experienced torque steer with mechanical steering, hard self turning to right under power, probably aggravated from motor being on end of a bracket is there a way to get rid of it without buying no feedback steering/hydraulic etc. I know about turning the fin on bottom of cavitation plate but Fillet 1 did that and no or little effect

measure the motor to the sides of the boat make sure it's really in the center. If so measure from the bottom of the boat to the motor each side make sure it's mounted straight that way too.

Willy, my first question is, when F1 adjusted the fin, WHERE did he leave it?...is it back in original position or where he adjusted it to?...bracket or not, it's gonna play into the torque problem...Provided your motor is centered, as Skools questioned, don't fight gettin' another steering cable too much...the NFS will improve your boat's handling like you won't believe!!...I wrestled w/the cable that was on mine for years, thinkin' that's just the way it is...switched up to NFS and WOW...had it now for 3 yrs and GREAT... ;)...

Ok Rap thats probably what I'll do, he told me he had adjusted it and it made no diffrence, it is a steady pull to the right, if you let go of the wheel it will immediatly turn the boat. I read in west marines catalog that it is called torque steer and is common on straight mechanical steering cables. But I was reading the posts about it on the hull truth and several guys had switched to the nfs steering and still had it, it reduced it but still could not let go of the wheel in confidence. I am glad you had no problem can't afford doing a hydraulic now, very expensive. I wonder why there is such a mixed opinion on the nfs ???
