I have a friend who lives in Gulfport. He was here when the storm hit. Drove home last week and has been told to stay out!!

As far as the Katrina pics...hard to describe...lotta work to be done... Mj, your friend from Gulfport...where did he go when they told him he couldn't go home?...

He works at WLOX , and he is staying with a guy who works there for the short term.
Its a long story, but he went home and said he wasn't going to leave. The police said ok arrested him and took him away! He has been back there a few times getting things and they also told him that they are going to tear down all the house (including his) south of the tracks!! They no want anyone living within 1/2 mile of the water. He is still trying to find out if its ture??

Does that mean the PROPERTY won't even be his any longer?...is there any compensation in a situation like that or does he just take a loss and move on?... ::)...bummer...hope he can salvage something out of it...

Well the town sent him a letter today stating that they will not tear down his house, but at the bottom of the letter it also said that if they decide to take the house they would let him know??? What the heck does that mean???
If they take the houses they will have to take them by emanate domain, and give him something for it!
