TECHNICALLY YES - THEY ARE THE WIDW ONES - THE NARROW ONES THAT RUN BOW TO STERN ARE CALLED GIRDERS - THE ONES THAT RUN SIDE TO SIDE ARE BULKHEADS

Thanks Franco, I'm in the process of digging out the in floor gas tank with hopes of repairing the girders without cutting the floor. I think Macojoe here on the forum made a repair this way. I'm anxious to see if I can do it this way. This is the first time I have attempted anything like this on a boat.

I know for sure that the bulkhead in front of the gas tank is rotted. The girders feel like they have separated from the wood in some spots. I was going to remove the tank, replace the bulkhead then inspect the girders. I really don't want to cut the floor. The floor is solid and doesnt have any cracking. I nearly have the tank out, hopefully this weekend I can get in there.

Pull the tank, work from inside like your thinking - you can get some fillers that add body to the resin - chopped fiberglass strands - then reglass over what you cut away
