Default East Wind Jinx

Had the whole day to fish today. High tide was at 9:30 AM, plenty of time to get my son off to school and leave the little one with momma. Got some bait and a tip for a honey hole for fluke on the Long Island Side of the pond! I was excited ! I packed a lunch and grabbed the poles. I drove the .3 miles to my boat slip with high hopes.

Once I got there though my hopes and dreams were dashed upon the rocks by the steady East wind. I gave it my best shot though. I got across and set up a drift to find the wind against tide and a .2 MPH drift ( if you can call it that ). I headed back home and tried there, nada..... Long story short I caught nada, nothing, zip, zilch. "Wind from the East, Fish bite the least" held true today.

Anyone else experience this phenomena or is it just me ??

Anytime you get "free" time to fish when everyones at work... seem's like the weather goes to pot.

All I know is, when we're at work, weathers beautiful.. sea reports are excellent... the one day we figure we'd sneak off and go fish... it's one of the roughest trips ever!!

go figure.

That's hard fishin though, to get completely skunk'd... but the good thing out of it is,,, you got to fish and take the boat out, that right there beats a day at work. ;)

East wind in my area is a rough day on the way out, as we have to fight the cross current and wind as we head into them, comin in aint so bad as we'll have a following sea.... A SW wind for us is the worst, slap beats us up when it's wind against N current.

Get'm next time! :)
