I check the categories and there are no new post, what’s going on? Did we all sell our beautiful wellcrafts? I hope not.
Even if you have nothing to say. You can say Hello guys. Hope everything is well. So I’m saying Hello guys I hope everybody is doing well. I know that if you live in the north east like I do ,it’s getting close to putting your boat to sleep for the winter Sad times up here.

Boat already put away. Long work days. Hunting season. And too many projects I need to finish before winter. This WORK thing takes most of my time.

Still going out in mine, but two storms in 3 weekends kinda slowed me down. Been catching los of blue crabs. Figured ya ll seen enough pictures of those. Not too many fish. Grouper season was only 2 weeks and it was 2 months to early. Flounder closed 6 weeks this fall.
It did turn cold this week, down to 49* last night. |

The site was really dead for a while. I think Destroyer started agitating, Step, you’ve really been carrying the ball and Phatdaddy - you guys, Oteps & Blue really deserve all of our thanks for bringing it back to life.
So, hello guys. I hope everyone is doing well. Haven’t touched the V for a long time. I’m working on our old house, getting ready to sell. Just got a bid to build a custom wood pane window to replace one that’s pretty rotted at the bottom (about 34” X 43”) for $460. I’ll be repairing the old one. I have a good shop and like doing that kind of thing, so can’t complain. Glad the site is percolating along. By the way destroyer, where are you? I hope you’re doing well.

Not many guys around anymore that can make a wooden window. My dad is a woodworker. Refinishes furniture and builds stuff too. Used to make alot of the candy displays for cracker barrel and places like that. Retired now but making new doors and couple windows for a very old house a friend owns.

There’s one store in Portland that has around 1650 router bit profiles - when I got that $460 bid, I saddled up and headed there. Was able to match the profile on my window so I can make some parts and splice them in to restore the bottom 6” or so. I do like doing this stuff, and I have a reasonable amount of machinery which helps.
My grandfather taught me to work, and some skills when I was 15 and got me started. He did what your dad does, all with hand tools. I inherited most of his tools and I love working with them, but I can’t make them do what he did with them. Things have changed a lot and it’s nice to hold onto the old ways a little.

Going black fishing tomorrow. At least that’s the plan
I will let you guys know how I do. But unfortunately I can’t give away my secret spot. My kids will kill me. Let’s just say it’s closer than to think. ***129300; ; ;

Step, Not sure where you live in New Jersey, but I will take a guess, the Shrewsbury Rocks, that use to be a great spot to catch big Tog or the Romer Shoal Light?
